  You will be in the borg and under borg protection forever or you will be in "Satan's world" and doomed to loving, just, destruction "soon."

  Setting up "us versus them" bifurcation of the world is a cult mind control tactic. There is no logic, no sound basis for such a limited world view. There are actually around 7 billion (current) possible lives with infinite possible outcomes on this planet, none of which involve a hands-on destruction or salvation via an invisible sky-daddy.

  Sometimes I think the GB really thinks they are speaking for God when they do some dumbshit move like this, thinking they're protected somehow. Maybe Legal doesn't have as much say on things as we thought for you know that a sharp lawyer would have stopped them from mouthing off before it was too late.

  I disagree. This reaction by the Russian government IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANT, LAWYERS INCLUDED.

  How To Hurt The Watchtower Financially Don't Contribute And Get Gobs Of Books and Burn Them

  for those who still have to go to meetings or are still in for one reason or another but no longer beleive, why not hurt the wt finacially as much as you can by ordering books and getting as much literature as you can and not paying for it.. i would not want to suggest dipping your hand in the contributions destined for the wt coffers as that would be illegal but it has crossed my mind and morally i see nothing wrong with stealing from these frauds..

  That sums it up. This isn't about bringing them down with one huge scheme. It's about doing the little things.

  Another good thing to do is make sure you leave the lights on in closets and bathrooms when you leave.

  Also, hit up their site to download the magazines and whatever other crap they've got. They have made announcements telling the rank and file to save the files they download so as to not waste bandwidth (that the WT pays for) downloading the same files over and over. You think the borg doesn't care about the pennies they pinch? Nothing wrong with pinching right back.

  Superior Authorities of Romans 13

  romans 13:1,2 (nwt): "let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by god; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by god.

  2 therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of god; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgment to themselves.".

  originally the borg taught that the superior authorities were gentile governments.. later, in 1929, they taught that the superior authorities were jehovah god and his son, jesus christ.. later once again, in 1962, they taught that the superior authorities were the governments of the world.. a change is due.

  I know it refers to secular governments. I'm talking about WT spin, not reality.

  They could include themselves as a "real" earthly government easily, and include the stuff about taxes to push Dubs' obligation to donate more money. This would be simple to pull off in comparison to a lot of the other BS the rank and file swallow. This isn't a change back to Rutherford but a tweak to their current understanding. A simple paragraph in a Kool Aid WT:

  "(Read Romans 13:1,2) In the book of Romans, Paul referred to the 'superior authorities' true Christians would be in subjection to. What 'superior authorities' are worshippers of Jehovah in subjection to today? It is true that in a relative sense Jehovah's Witnesses remain subject to the laws and regulations of the secular governments of the land they live in. Shouldn't those who wish to please Jehovah show subjection to the Faithful and Discreet Slave and its Governing Body who He has appointed as 'superior authorities' over his interests on earth? (Matthew 24:45)"

  most of you know that my husband (iron hill) and i have been trying to do the fade from the witnesses....here's the update!

  my husband's ex wife who is disfellowshipped decides all of a sudden that she wants to get reinstated - i guess cuz we decided not to go anymore - and the guilt of their daughters dying in armageddon is killing her.

  but anyway, she asked us if we would be ok with her coming and taking the girls to the meetings on the weekends that are ours.....my husband denied.

  My guess is there's a typo (or that the thought is incomplete) and that this might be when they decided that the communion bread and wine were identified as symbols of the body and blood of Christ to be partaken only by the 144,000.

  I'm guessing, but either the change was from literal transsubstantiation to symbolic OR from all Dubs to just the 144K (which would likely need to be clarified at around this time, 1938). Just my guess. Hope someone has references.

  Awake! and the public WT are informational. Kool Aid WT is teaching.

  As to the original question, there is little doubt in my mind that the lawyers run the entire show as they see fit. They let the GB make the call on things they don't care about but if they feel something needs to be put into a KM or WT or elder body letter, it gets in there. I can't imagine the GB EVER overruling the attorneys at this point in the game.

  Example: April KM telling people to get the mp3s of talks off of the Internet. Why? Legal reasons, no doubt.
